I agree that they minutes are not capturing all the arguments around an issue. Even the manual minutes have rarely been able to capture most of the arguments around an issue. From my perspective, having minutes at least indicating which issues was discussed, some of the argument and outcome at least allows one to narrow down going back to the transcript or recording if one need to deep dive into the reasoning. For keeping the arguments more easily available we should in fact have more discussion over email as there the full argumentation would be available in the mail archive.

I love the idea but … They are a pretty poor summarization of issues raised or why a decision was made. They are not an inadequate summary of the meeting for anyone trying to read them.
