I agree, hence why 4 of 5 use cases presented for both range filters and track filters were focused on media applications in the charter. The single non-media example was just to show general utility for other apps, not driving design decisions. All aspects of filter design were driven by media apps. While no aspect was specifically designed for non-media apps, it is obvious they can be used beyond media. Like MOQT, the hope is that general apps come for free even though we focus the design on media apps.

As chair, I'd like to remind the group that it is chartered to work on "use cases including live streaming, gaming, and media conferencing". In today's interim there were many references to other use cases like sensor data.

There's nothing wrong with making choices that make the protocol extensible to other use cases. But the focus should be on the chartered use cases and other applications should not be driving major components of the design.
